Once a child turns 18, he is an adult in the eyes of the law.  As a parent, you will no longer be able to control the health care decisions of the child and will no longer be able to act on the child's behalf in financial transactions without the documents of Power of Attorney, Durable Power of Attorney for Healthcare, and HIPPA forms.  This is a great way to make sure your family is prepared.
