For this year’s project, the Willow House children created sculptural self-portraits by bending, twisting and joining wires. They begin with a contour drawing without lifting the pencil, striving for an expressive drawing and not photographic accuracy.

Once the drawing was completed, they created a 3D wire sculpture by tracing the line drawing with one single wire, adding smaller wires for texture.
