At Planet Granite, the belay lesson teaches you to manage the ropes for the climber on the taller walls (called belaying). A beginner belay lesson includes gear rental (shoes and harness) and one day pass. At the end of class, students will receive a temporary belay card so they can continue to climb and belay for the rest of the day.

Top rope Belay Lessons are offered every day. Class size is limited to four people to ensure personal attention, so please call (415) 692-3434 ahead for a reservation. Classes fill up quickly.

First-time belay lesson participants are eligible for a one-time purchase of 5 visits for just $70.  This 5-visit pack is good for 2 months after your lesson, giving new guests an opportunity to try out climbing in our gyms!
