Two tickets to Dancing the Gods: Sanjukta Sinha, a World Music institute Dance Concert, on Sunday, April 23, 7PM, in New York City.

One of India’s leading Kathak artists of her generation, Sanjukta Sinha is known for her technical expertise and immense artistry.  Rooted yet modern, Sanjukta aims to create a new idiom of Kathak as a performing art, one that is an arresting blend of the traditional and contemporary.  She will perform Angika, Journes in Love which is a manifestation of the tukra, a celestial pirouette encompassing the four seasons of love – hope, longing, anguish and joy.

Co-curated by Rajika Puri.  At 6PM, there will be a pre-show Lecture Demonstration by Rajika Puri: The Cultural Contexts of Mohiniyattam and Kathak.  A chat and chai with the artists will take place after the 7PM performance.
