Description

Owner Norman Dudum bought Taqueria Zorro in April of 2001. A veteran of the restaurant business here in San Francisco for over thirty years, owner of Garibaldi Café and Bar in the 1990's and Café de Leon in the 1980's. Norman also received an AA at City College San Francisco Hotel & Restaurant and B.S. in Marketing at San Francisco State University. Acquiring Taqueria Zorro was something Norman always wanted to do growing up in San Francisco. In high school he used to frequent the many Taquerias in the Mission district and when the opportunity arose he wanted to have a Mission style Taqueria in North Beach. TZ, opened in 1997, serving authentic homemade cuisine, made with freshest high-quality ingredients. All the produce is handpicked locally by the owner. From the Chile Relleno to the hand chopped salsas, the food is so good that it will make your taste buds dance. The Jugos (Mexican juices), Horchata, Melon, Pina and Tamarindo are fresh and chilled daily. The menu offers Tacos, Burritos, Quesadillas, Nachos, Papusas Tortas and Special traditional Dinner Plates with your choice of black, whole, and refried beans, Spanish rice, and four kinds of salsa from the salsa bar. There are more than 10 kinds of meat fillings including spicy chicken, roast pork and Char broiled pork marinated chicken or beef and Fish. At Taqueria Zorro, we keep it simple: fresh ingredients, authentic recipes and expert assembly go into each of our burritos, tacos, quesadillas and Mexican plates. Our regular customers tend to be fanatical and it only takes a visit or two for people to jump on board. We prepare your food when you order it, right in front of you. We're open seven days a week and on the weekends till 2:00 am, for the late night crowd from the surrounding Night life of North Beach and Broadway. $25 gift certificate
