A copyedit of a manuscript of up to 100,000 words for grammar, punctuation, style, and syntax. Will include a style sheet reflecting consistent handling of mechanical issues such as spelling, capitalization, use of numbers, abbreviation, and hyphenation. All spelling to be based on Merriam-Webster Unabridged online dictionary, unless another dictionary is specified. Barbara Miller recently began freelance editing, having retired after fifteen years at the Population Council, a highly regarded international research organization that confronts critical health and developmental issues. She has edited numerous publications, including research papers for scientific journals and technical reports, grant proposals, conference papers, presentations, and novels. She is proficient in Endnote reference software. She successfully completed courses at NYU in copyediting and proofreading, as well as indexing. Her writing has appeared in Town and Village newspaper, Real Estate Weekly, and online. She is currently completing a novel.
