The Summer Arts Program 

June 12- July 14 2017

Monday- Thursday 9:00am - 4:00pm & Friday 9:00am- 1:00pm

The winner can choose any 1 week session.

 For ages 8-14

Modern and Contemporary Dance: Classes will incorporate movement games such as shadowing, touch and reaction and moving freely across the studio.

These games and excercises will expand their dance awareness and teach them to use their bodies to move in a creative way.

Art:  Taught by professional artists, children will be introduced to various mediums that relate to the dance world, including sketching, knitting and crocheting through fun and creative projects.

Theater Arts/Drama: Through theater games and pantomime, this class will teach the students to bring a level of dramatic expression to their dancing, developing stage presence and improving overall performance quality.

Dance History:  Through videos and interactive discussions, the young dancers will be introduced to the choreographers and composers who have greatly influenced the dance world.

FUN!!!: It's not all work.  We visit Central Park for lunch and playtime.  We also schedule trips to art museums and discover how ballet and dancers have been the muse of many painters and sculptors.
