WRITING LIFE is a joyful, deep and moving exploration of yourself and your work. Through a series of exercises, inquiries and explorations, Wells asks each participant to start with one good idea to work on for the weekend. Described as, "a magician," "a surgeon and a sorcerer," and, "a midwife, nurturing and guiding with persistence and love," Wells is "a compassionate and fearless art maker, teacher and community builder with an uncanny ability to get to the heart of a person’s work."

WRITING LIFE is a weekend intensive and I ask people to set aside as much time as possible outside of our sessions to work on assignments. The more time you set aside, the greater strides you'll make.

WRITING LIFE is a fantastic way to kick off a new project; it's also great for making breakthroughs on something you've been kicking around for awhile. The medium doesn't matter - I work with bloggers, memoirists, playwrights, academics, historians, performers, novelists, travel writers - you name it.

WRITING LIFE participants leave the workshop having taken a huge leap on their project and with a clearer sense of themselves as artists. We do a limited amount of sharing in class - outside opinions are kept to a minimum. I'm less concerned with the exact content of what you're writing -- my passion and expertise lies in getting at what you want to write, making decisions on how to move forward and getting you to write as much as we can over the course of the weekend.
