Description

Texas was the third state to be honored in the 2004 series of State Quarters. Texas was the 28th state to join in the Union, so the Texas coin is the 28th in the overall collection. The Texas State Quarter features an outline of the state with a lone star superimposed on the outline. A lariat encircling the design is symbolic of the states cattle and cowboy history, as well as the frontier spirit that tamed the land. The coin design is completed with the inscription, The Lone Star State, which is Texas nickname.

This Texas State quarter is an uncirculated coin from the Philadephia Mint. Please keep the coin in the protective airtite coin holder provided to maintain their uncirculated condition.  "P" refers to the Philadelphia
