This project -- The Garden Reading Blanket -- was inspired by the Westside Waldorf 3rd Grade children, Ms. Belinda, and the Waldorf curriculum. This year in Practical Activities, our children have learned much about gardening, and simultaneously their eagerness for reading has really blossomed.

The squares were intended to create an aerial view of a farm with rows of crops of all kinds. The blanket squares were knit by almost every child in the 3rd Grade. The blue river border was knit by Ms. Belinda who is symbolically holding all of the children. All yarn is wool and the filling/backing is cotton.
