Description

The mission of Joyful Mind Project, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is to prepare young people of all backgrounds through the practice of secular mindfulness to define, understand, and reach their highest goals, to inquire and create, to learn on their own, and to carry that quest for understanding into the world in their own way, and in their own careers.

The Joyful Mind Project - Family Program
This class for families with children of all ages has been serving our community since January 2015.

On the second Saturday of the month, families gather together to practice mindfulness and share a social engagement project aimed at cultivating compassion and strengthening our communities.

For many of us, particularly in our current political climate,  taking action in our own communities feels essential.  But how do we sustain this level of commitment without burning out or becoming apathetic?  Mindfulness and contemplative practices can help us address the challenges we face and contribute to the effectiveness and sustainability of our projects.

Joyful Mind Project - Private Sessions

Chelsea is happy to come to your home, learn about the specific needs of your family, and help you find creative ways of incorporating mindfulness into your everyday life.

Try a one-time visit or customize a series for your family or your own private group.  Sessions are typically 60 minutes and include guided practice, movement, games, multicultural stories, and elements from the Mindful Schools research-based curriculum.

Chelsea True is a Mindful Schools Certified Instructor and the founder of Joyful Mind Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit brining mindfulness education to schools and families in Sonoma County and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Chelsea believes that mindfulness can transform not only individual stress and suffering, but also entire communities.  Mindfulness has supported her life for more than twenty years, teaching her how to turn towards difficulties with tenderness and acceptance — and to allow sorrow to inform joy.
