The winner of this package will receive a signed self portait oil painting from local artist Laraine Kaizer. "Model Home Calico" Original Painting signed by the artist in wooden frame (38.5"x26.5" with frame) ready to hang wire attached in back painted in July 2010. (36"x24" without frame) Could be described as brightly colored circular shapes and lines on a dark backgound, lots of motion, stricking colors.

Bio: Born in Peoria, IL Laraine started painting in the summer of 2004. Up to this point she was a violinist striving to secure a university teaching job. While finishing up her doctoral thesis in violin performance at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, Laraine treated herself to her art class; "introduction to oils." Although drawing was her favorite hobby, this oils class and a few private art lessons with a great local artist in her home town: Carol Spengal was her only formal art training. She continued to paint after graduating from the conservatory in September of 2004 at which point she moved to Norfolk, VA. There she put away the violin and painted. In September 2005 she came to Phoenix where she had her first solo art show at MonOrchid Gallery in January of 2006. Since then Laraine has shown at several local Phoenix venues including Paisley Violin, Fair Trade Café, Zest Spirited Dining, and Collins College.  In 2011-2012 over 30 of her pieces went ‘on tour’ at four Las Vegas Public Libraries: Clark County, West Charleston, Spring Valley and Sunrise.
