Dr. Margaret Bason has been serving the Farmington Valley as a dermatologist for over 20 years. She specializes in general, pediatric and cosmetic dermatology and continually updates her training to bring her patients the latest treatments available. Dr. Bason grew up in Simsbury, Connecticut and graduated from Simsbury High School. She comes from a family of physicians. Her father, Dr. Richard Bason, was a pediatrician who practiced in Simsbury for over 43 years before retiring a few years ago.

She was the first physician in the Farmington Valley to offer Botox to her patients over 20 years ago and thus, is the most experienced Botox practitioner in the area. Dr. Bason graduated with high honors from the University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree Biological Basis of Behavior. She attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine to become a physician. Her dermatology training included residency and fellowship years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, University of California San Francisco Medical Center in San Francisco, and Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans. She is Board Certified in Dermatology by the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Bason has been performing cosmetic procedures since 1991. She received her initial training in cosmetic dermatology during her dermatology residency in New Orleans. She has subsequently attended seminars conducted by the American Academy of Dermatology to keep current with evolving technologies.
