Description
CWCMV Mom and Creative Dance instructor, Kristen Smiarowski, will come to your home and host a 1 hour creative dance party for up to 12 kids of approximately the same age. Creative Dance Party will feature improvisation and choreography, exploring dance concepts alone, with partners and in groups, focus on creative expression, collaboration and joy of movement. Format and activites will depend on age groups as follows: age groups: 4-5 year olds; 6-8 year olds or 8-10 year olds. Kristen Smiarowski has extensive experience as a choreographer, dancer, and educator. She has taught choreography, improvisation, creative dance, and folk dance to children and adults throughout Southern California, and has been creating original dance works since 1996. Her theatre-based and site-specific choreography has been presented in Southern California at the REDCAT/Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater, Automata, the Ballona Wetlands, Highways Performance Space, Edgemar Installations, UCLA, and Center Stage Theater. Smiarowski has taught dance at schools, universities, healthcare institutions and museums. She is on faculty at Loyola Marymount University and the Colburn School for Performing Arts, and is a master teaching artist with the Music Center. She has also taught dance at Crossroads School for Arts & Sciences in Santa Monica, the Center for Movement Education and Research, Segerstrom Center for the Arts, The HeArt Project, Skirball Cultural Center, UCLA, The Wooden Floor and UC Santa Barbara.
