Description
Complete your bucket list with a once in a lifetime opportunity to take a private off road four wheel drive tour of Sandy Neck led by a professional naturalist who will explain the unique Sandy Neck ecology, beach, marsh, and its wildlife.
Depending on the season chosen, search the dunes for snowy owls, scan the water for stranded sea turtles, observe sea birds and seals, and enjoy the spectacular landscape. The round trip includes the full length of Sandy Neck beach.
The highlight of this experience is a private tour of the historic and privately owned early 19th century Sandy Neck lighthouse and keepers house where you will climb the antique staircase to the top of the tower and enjoy sweeping 360 degree views of the spectacular vistas above Barnstable Harbor. A really breathtaking spectacle!
Here is a testimonial from last year's winning bidder:
"We were thrilled to get the opportunity to participate in the Sandy Neck Trip experience this year! It exceeded our expectations and we got a rare opportunity to see a lighthouse and cottage that has barely been touched by time. The entire village at the end of Sandy Neck is like a snapshot in history. It was a perfect bright blue clear sky - we could even see to all the way to the end of the Cape from the top of the lighthouse. The trip was the perfect ending to our summer!"
This is available for up to two people, and is not available to the public. It would make a very special gift for someone, and is truly a one of a kind experience.
Special Instructions
The trip for two is available to be scheduled on a date arranged between January and April 30, 2018, and September 15 to December 30, 2018. The agreed date is dependent on weather and tides.

Sandy Neck enjoys a very close relationship with the Cape Wildlife Center, as many of the injured animals, marsh turtles, and birds rescued from the park are treated and rehabilitated there.
