Large Gallery Piece of Two Striped Bass Mounted on Stunning Drift Wood, by Janet Messineo

Item Number: 299
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
The item is a large, exquisite statement piece. It was created by Janet Messineo of Martha's Vineyard fifteen years ago. This was her very first ART GALLERY quality piece. It was bought by the donor to display in their house on the Vineyard.
It measures 36"L x 28" H x 18" W. The two striped bass are real fish that have been preserved through taxidermy. This piece is in excellent condition. It is one of a kind, and the fish were caught by the artist herself on the Vineyard. The pictures cannot convey the statement this piece makes.
Janet Messineo is a legend on Martha's Vineyard as an angler, a fishing guide and an artist. Her work is extremely collectible. With a degree from the Pennsylvania Institute of Taxidermy, she is among a handful of taxidermists in the world who do saltwater skin mounts. Her work is all hand-done, using no fiberglass molds. She has now retired from her taxidermy practice, which makes this piece even more collectable.
Janet has done work for Jim Belushi, Spike Lee, William Weld, Charles Ogletree, Bill Clinton and many other prominent people. Fish that she has mounted are hanging on the walls of 36 states across the nation and in China, Canada and England.
