Description

Perfect for the man cave or sports shrine, this 12" x 15" plaque commemorates the career of major league baseball Hall of Famer Roberto Clemente, who spent 18 seasons in right field for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1955 to 1972.

A numbered edition, this plauque is #120 in a total of 317 produced, .317 being Clemente's career batting average.

Clemente was a 15-time All Star who had exactly 3,000 hits in his major league career, a career cut short by his death on a humanitarian rescue mission to aid victims of an earthquake in Nicaragua.

Clemente was the first Latin American player to be enshrined in baseball's Hall of Fame. Since his death, MLB annually presents an award in his name to major league players who exemplify community service.
