Description

Created and sold by Salvino as part of their Sports Legend series in 1990, and limited to a worldwide distribution of 400, this 8 1/2" tall figure depicts Muhammad Ali throwing a hard right cross.

Born Cassius Clay, Muhammad Ali fought to a 56-5 record as a professional and was a 1960 Olympic gold medalist. Widely regarded as one of the most significant sports figures of the 20th century, Ali's fame and influence extended well beyond the ring.

Ali is the only fighter to be named Ring Magazine's Fighter of the Year six time, and Sports Illustrated named him the greatest athlete of the 20th century.

Ali signed the faceplate angled at the edge of the base; unfortunately the certificate of authenticity and the original box have been lost over the ensuring 27 years. Figurines with the paperwork and original boxes go for as much as $800 in memorabilia auctions; without these items we are starting bidding at just $50! The Salvino Sports Legend sticker is still attached to the bottom of the base.
