Description
The Humane Society of Southern Arizona received a donation of four, 11" x 14" autographed photos of former New York Yankees baseball players, available here as a set. Each photo is in a heavy cardboard frame and outer plastic sleeve, ready to be mounted together in one large collection or individually framed to the winning bidder's taste.
Included in this package are these former Yankees, all pictured in their Yankee uniforms:
Graig Nettles, 6-time All Star and 2-time Gold Glove winner who played with the Yankees from 1973 to 1983.
Ron Blomberg, a Yankee from 1969 to 1976, who is April 1973 has the distinction of being the first designated hitter in major league baseball history; his photo includes this information.
Chris Chambliss, a Yankee from 1974 to 1979 and again in 1988. Chambliss was 1971 A.L. Rookie of the Year and a 1978 Gold Glove winner; he also coached for the Yankees for several seasons in the late '90s.
Tommy John was a Yankees pitcher from 1979 to 1982 and again from 1986 to 1989 in a Hall of Fame-worthy career that saw him rack up 288 victories, the majority of them after he underwent the surgergy to repair his UCL now commonly known as "Tommy John surgery."
Special Instructions
Various certificates of authenticity are included for each photo; given the age, some of the verification websites appear to now be defunct. The photos appear to have all been signed around the same time, most likely at a retired Yankee players event.
Sold only as a set.
