It features a photo from his playing days with the Lakers overlayed with a color photo from his post-playing days and is numbered #13 of #25. This nicely framed piece measures 11" x 17" and comes with a certificate of authenticity detailing that it is one of 25 autographed photos of this time known to exist.

The late great George Mikan is regarded as one of the pioneers of the modern professional game. He is widely considered to be responsible for the reinvention of basketball as a game for the big and tall with his ability to rebound, shot block and shoot over smaller defenders. Mikan is a member of both the professional and college basketball Hall of Fames.

A member of the first four All Star games in NBA history, Mikan had already established himself as a star within the NBL when it merged with another league in 1949 to become the NBA. He won the first scoring title in NBA history and led his team, the Minneapolis Lakers, to the first ever NBA championship.

Mikan was the first pro basketball player to eclipse 10,000 career points and in 1996 was named by the NBA as one of its 50 greatest players in history.

In his post-playing days, Mikan was a coach and also the first commissioner of the ABA league, responsible for creating its famous red, white and blue basketball.
