Description
One of the great legal minds of our time, native New Yorker and celebrity attorney Barry Scheck has been involved with groundbreaking, legally and socially significant, high profile criminal defense and civil rights cases. He defended O.J. Simpson, Hedda Nussbaum, and Louise Woodward "the Nanny."
In the late 1990s, he formed a civil rights law firm with Johnnie Cochran. Together, they represented Abner Louima, and other victims of egregious police misconduct and excessive use of force. He is the co-founder and co-director of The Innocence Project, a national organization that has used DNA evidence to help exonerate hundreds of wrongfully convicted people and works to reform the criminal justice system. He has played himself on episodes of The Good Wife and been portrayed by both Rob Morrow and Peter Gallagher in major motion pictures.
