North Shore Commercial Fishing Historical Tour with Brian Tofte

Item Number: 307
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
Spend a beautiful afternoon on the shores of Lake Superior learning about the history of North Shore commercial fishing families and the industry they helped to develop with local historian Brian Tofte. One of the founding members of the Commercial Fishing Museum and grandson of Andrew Tofte (of the Tofte twin fish houses), Brian is an incredible source of knowledge and enthusiasm for North Shore commercial fishing history.
The afternoon will include a visit to an historical Lake Superior fish house still being used today, a meet and greet with a second and third generation commercial fishing family, an in depth presentation of the history of our area's commercial fishing industry and families, and of course, a sampling of the notorious Tofte family fishcakes (an over 150 year old secret family recipe). This is truly a unique opportunity!
