This hand-carved, hand-pulled, Moku Hanga woodblock Medicine Buddha print was created by artist Faith Stone. 

Medicine Buddha is set in the Colorado Foothills, with a mountain bluebird. Moku Hanga is a labor-intensive traditional Japanese woodblock technique. The woodblocks are hand carved, and hand rubbed using a barren onto fine mulberry paper.

Ms. Stone paints contemporary Buddhist and Hindu art. She finds the joy in painting Buddhas is creating the space and environment for the deity to reside. "The idea is that once the painting is completed, the deity moves in. The painting no longer belongs to the artist. It is the home of a Buddha." Ms. Stone is also author of Drawing Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. "I want everyone to paint Buddhas, it’s the best!"
