The traditional round "sewn seat" or zafus were orginally stuffed with cattail when made in Japan. Carolina Morning stuffs them with either buckwheat hulls or kapok fiber. Some people prefer the pleasing round shape of this zafu for visual appeal. The zabuton, filled with kapok, provides essential cushioning for the feet, ankles and legs.
