Description
Be the successful bidder for this item and you will receive the kite of your choice from Little Cloud Kites, "Built to Lift Spirits:"
- Quetzal, the inspiration for this design came from Japanese fish scale fabric patterns, as well as iridescent coloring on tropical reptiles and birds
- Red Tail, inspired by the artist's friend, poet & artist Adam G. Chambers, and his desire to fly with the freedom of a hawk
- Shakti, based on a mandala henna design, and named after the Hindu word for feminine divine energy
- Profound Love, inspired by a moving description of the profound love between sun and earth found in the book, Return of the Bird Tribes
- Mariposa Monarca, inspired by a vibrant Oaxacan-Mexican Alebrijes folk art sculpture kept by my worktable, or
- Ephemerals, inspired by the welcome appearance of spring flowers in our Acadian Maritime forests; the Trillium and the Trout Lilly.
Says Little Cloud Kites creator Leland Wong Daugherty, "Over 2 decades of searching for a means to both create art and make an income, I developed for myself a keel-less delta kite to be an ideal canvas for art— art specifically made to lift people's spirits! During my discovery of the history of kites, I learned that kites were revered in the East as vehicles for sending blessings and well-wishes. I feel that kites deserve a rediscovery in our Western culture as a tool for lifting spirits, getting us outdoors, requiring little in materials, and capable of giving us a great return on our initial investment."
