Tony Matthews produced "Surfer" for a 2005 issue of Lion's Roar magazine, then Shambhala Sun. The painting accompanied an article entitled "Ride of a Lifetime" by Jaimal Yogis in which he describes "feel(ing) like he's surfing when he's meditating and meditating when he's surfing."
