A five-day intensive designed for beginning yoga students, which is offered in Boulder, Colorado each year. Designed for beginning students and those new to Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga, this course offers insights into the interlinking aspects of the practice. Students explore the internal forms of alignment that are essential to practicing in a balanced, intelligent, and safe manner. The course also includes an introduction to chanting, pranayama, and Indian philosophies.



Mary Taylor began studying yoga in 1971, soon after she came home from France with a grande diplôme from Julia Child’s cooking school, L’Ecole des Trois Gourmandes. She found yoga at first a means of finding equanimity during the stress of University, and it was that thread of balance that got her hooked.



Richard Freeman began the study of yoga in 1968 at the Chicago Zen Center while working on an MA in philosophy.  He has produced a number of highly regarded yoga audio and video recordings; and is the author of 
The Mirror of Yoga and co-author (along with Mary Taylor) of 
The Art of Vinyasa (Shambhala Publications).He currently travels throughout the world teaching yoga, philosophy, and meditation. 



Mary and Richard are co-founders of 
Freeman+Taylor.
