Description

This yoga sculpture from Rochman Reese of The Art of Happiness celebrates the grace and beauty of the human form as demonstrated by the spectacular pigeon pose. This sculpture's graceful lines and circular forms are a celebration of what is possible with the human body.

A pose like this combines strength of mind with the grace and suppleness of a dancer. With their soft, smooth, stone like texture and simple flowing forms, these yoga sculptures make very special gifts for every lover of yoga.

Each one of the "Yoga Bow Pose" series has been made from a special sculpturing medium called cast stone. It has a smooth natural feel and satisfying weight and texture. A gold-colored wash has been rubbed into each sculpture to enhance the variations in texture and detail. Due to their handmade nature, no two of these sculptures are exactly alike. The final finish may very slightly from what is shown in the picture.

All the sculptures are meant to be picked up and touched as well as looked at. Each sculpture has Rochman's signature inscribed on the bottom of the sculpture.

Rochman Reese was born in Australia and spent many years wandering to strange places around the world. His sculptures are influenced by many different cultures. All his sculptures are intended as a sensual experience. "A good sculptural work," he says, "calls out to be touched as well as looked at. In my work I try to create artworks which evoke an instant tactile response."
