Wabi-Sabist: "Great Wave and Sun (Yo to Ni)" Handmade Woodblock Print

Item Number: 523
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
The Japanese title of this handmade woodblock print from Wabi-Sabist is "Yo to Ni." It symbolizes the self, the world, and the burdens and turbulence of life.
Mike Fiorella designed and handprinted this Japanese woodblock print, inspired by Zen Buddhism. As Mike says, "The circle can be interpreted as the self being tossed by life's powerful, crashing waves. Or it can be thought of the self centered in the universe—witnessing and being part of the chaotic world, yet also composed and calm."
Wabi-Sabist: Original wabi sabi art & sosaku hanga (handmade Japanese woodblock prints) imbued with the Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetic: rustic, asymmetric, natural, worn. Many items inspired by Zen.
