Description
45 minute evaluation looking beyond the need for glasses to see if deficiencies in eye tracking, eye teaming or eye focusing is behind your child's struggle in school.
There's more to vision therapy than simply strengthening the eyes. It also enhances the neurological connections between the eyes and the brain. and measures focus, muscle balance, tracking, visual discrimination, visual memory (long and short term), and visual motor skills.
Specialized computer programs, therapeutic lenses, prisms, filters, and engaging games and exercises are sued to help patients master the visual skills to perform optimally in the classroom and/or on the athletic field.
Many patients who are in Occupational Therapy find that Vision Therapy allows significant breakthroughs in their progress.
Vision Therapy can be a useful tool for helping children and adults alike. In fact, Dr. Marran sees many adult patients, many who have struggled all their lives and never knew why.
Thank you so much for all the support you have given my son and for believing he can do more. When homework is tough or progress seems slow I think back at where he was when we started Vision Therapy and I'm motivated to keep going. I can happily and proudly say that he is a different child. I still remember the hope I felt when we arrived at your office for the first time - Fingers crossed that you had magic dust... He couldn't bounce a ball or run a few feet without falling. Reading was a torturous task, as was any paper and pencil task. He has made so much growth. Thank you for all your help. Dr. Marran you are awesome! - Kasey Z.
I have seen so much growth in Kayla. She appears much less frustrated and seems more able to cope with frustrating situations... She feels that the vision therapy has helped her be more successful in life (softball, school, etc.) My personal feeling is that Kayla's vision problems created a feeling a chaos or loss of control... Not she can make sense of the world visually, she is less angry, less stressed and feels more successful in life. - Dr. Camille Reineke
