Description

Artist Michael Caviasca brings an art piece that is both beautiful and playable, in this facinatingTic-Tac-Toe game. Made from various woods, hardware, plexiglass, pottery and thread, this piece is at the same time familiar and surprising.

ARTIST STATEMENT

ABOUT THE ART
I place together seemingly random images and quotes.
They are then ‘bonded’ together into one story,
idea or concept, using threads, hardware & suede lacing.
Look, read, think and smile.
MATERIALS USED
Woods, nails, screws, bolts and washers.
Paper image transfers, metals, clay and
found objects.
ABOUT ME
I hold a BFA from Emerson, Boston, in Visual Arts.
My ‘boring’ work includes packaging for wholesaler’s
soft goods and their displays.
The job I’ve loved the most is owning & running
my own gift shop in Dallas, 1991 –  2001.
We truly had fun and were “GIFTED”.

Growth & change is essential.
I am always enjoying classes at RISD,
As220 and The Steel Yard.
I live in Providence with my cats Nico, Edie,
Aidan and Lily.
Friends call me the Crazy Cat Man.
I contest; I am not a cat.
