Description
This large, striking print is sure to attract attention. So realistically rendered, the viewer would think that they are looking at a photograph, instead of a print of an oil painting. Measuring a commanding 36 in by 24 in, this unmounted print will make a striking addition to any decor.

Artist Statement:
In painting, glass one is attempting to render a surface that is composed entirely of either refracted or reflected light. The objects are rarely painted as an independent object. The raised lettering on the jars and bottles I paint have, by their prismatic nature, an ability to capture tone and color from one side of the composition and pull it to the other. The rhythmic nature of this lettering provides a stave onto which the decaying patterns of color, the tonal crescendos, and the reflected counter melodies are written.
Through painting glass, I have exposed an endless path of discoveries. I can paint photo realist images but also be expressionistic whilst achieving what I believe to be powerful and engaging works of art.
Born and educated in England, Catskill artist Ken Orton is a prize-winning artist and is shown in galleries around the world. As a photorealist, Orton's powerful and dramatic paintings utilize classical painting techniques to render light and its interaction with surfaces, reflections, and shadows
