While it is easy to think of shelter expenses that directly relate to the animals, food, vet cost and more, it is easy to forget the basics. 

Just like your home the SPCA has expenses that have to be paid just to allow us to stay open each day. This includes utlities. The lights that allow us to see to provide care, the heat that keeps the animals, staff and volunteers warm as they work tirelessly for the animals, and the phone and internet that allows us to show the publc what animals we have for adoption and to answer calls from the public in their time of need.
