Kaze is a Japanese GastroPub and sushi bar that combines three venues into one: a contemporary dining room, a hip bar/lounge, and a year-round, landscaped beer garden. Jon Zipperstein and Hideki Harada co-own and operate the restaurant. 

Zipperstein is already a successful restaurateur in the city, with Embers in Kenwood. Harada is an experienced chef, who has worked at Embers and Boca (among others). In 2009, he left the states for Japan, where he spent a few years honing his craft. 

After Harada moved back to Cincinnati in September 2011, he reconnected with Zipperstein. Seeing the revitalization of Over the Rhine, both gentlemen wanted to claim their seat at the OTR table and thought there would be no better way than combining their talents to create a unique new restaurant in the Gateway Quarter.
