2010 Domus Aurea Cabernet Sauvignon, Chile: 96 points from the Wine Advocate. Harmonious nose of blackcurrants and blackberries. Eucalyptus notes mix with cigar, cedar and spicy vanilla followed by a layer of blueberries, stony notes, dried thyme and a touch of smoke.
2011 Tenuta San Vincenti Chianti Classico, Gran Selezione, Italy: Incredible depth of flavor; the flavors take time takes to unwind and unfold on the palate.
2011 Nieto Senetiner Terroir Blend Malbec, Argentina: 90 points from Wine Spectator. Aromas of violet, with flavors of raspberry, wild cherry, pepper and slate. 300 cases imported.
2012 Boekenhoutskloff Cabernet Sauvignon, South Africa: Cedary, with blackberries, plum sauce and hints of tar. Ageable.
2012 Concha Y Toro Entre Cordilleras, Peumo Vineyard, Terrunyo Carmenere, Chile: Woody and round in feel, this soft Carmenère offers char, hickory and blackberry flavors in front of a plump finish.
2013 Bodega El Porvenir De Cafayate Laborum, single vineyard Tannat, Argentina: Red and dark fruits, notes of floral and clove. Very complex, with layer upon layer of flavors.
