This children's book is about a 10 year old boy who has to leave New York and go live in Texas with his grandparents.  He bonds with a horse while living on a ranch and learns to deal with the changes.  This book is beautifully illustrated!

Author Doris McClellan earned the Bachelor of Science degree from Sul Ross State University and the Master of Education at Hardin-Simmons University, in preparation for her career as an elementary teacher and counselor. She is a student and observer of plant and animal life in West Texas and the Trans-Pecos region. Doris McClellan is a resident of Sterling City, Texas. Her inspiration and knowledge of nature reflected in her stories is taken from her personal experiences while living on the Ellwood Spade ranch. Her stories both entertain and educate.
