California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) redefines the classical theater for the 21st century creating exemplary productions of works both old and new in a casual, outdoor venue. Past seasons included productions such as “As You Like It” and “Measure for Measure” by William Shakespeare, “The Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams, and new works such as “black odyssey” by Marcus Gardley. There’s ample free parking and a free shuttle from the Orinda BART station, and grounds open two hours before each show so that you can bring your own food and drink to enjoy at picnic benches or other seating under groves. Or if you prefer, enjoy delicious and affordable food, beer, wine, coffee and desserts at their on-site cafe. Two regular tier tickets for their 2018 season can be redeemed starting April 2, 2018 and used Tuesday-Thursday evenings or at a Saturday matinee performance.
