Inspired by Australian Aboriginal art, the river uses the same cylindrical patterns found in this form of indigenous art to create a modernized version of the “dream time”. The dream time was the way the indigenous people of Australia would pass on their mythical stories from generation to generation. The sharp black river crosses through dividing up the work aggressively and suggesting a sense of quiet chaos.
