Description

This handsomely framed print is from the famed wildlife and waterfowl artist Lynn Bogue Hunt.

Hunt's illustrations and paintings set the American standard for artistic depictions of hunting and fishing. He sold paintings to ammunition manufacturers for use on posters and calendars. DuPont, a maker of gun powder, commissioned 16 paintings for a poster series entitled Our American Game Birds, which the company published in 1917. The series was accompanied by a field guide for scattergunners.

This print, also known as "Common Goldeneye - White Winged Scoter", is a reproduction and comes from this commissioned series of paintings. It has been matted and framed. It features a flock of Golden Eye ducks on the water, and two prominent White-winged Scoters in flight. Unlike many similar examples of Hunt's works, the descriptions of the waterfowl depicted are in a scripted font rather than the more common type-writer style.

This is a very high-quality example of Hunt's work and is sure to be a welcome addition to your office, home study, or man-cave.
