Harlan Estates is, along with Screaming Eagle, California's top cult winery, and for good reason.

Located in the western hills of Oakville, Harlan Estates was founded in 1984 with the vision of producing a "First Growth" California red wine. The two bottlings offered here reflect decades of experience, study and art.

The 2013 is described by Robert Parker as one of their all-time greats -- dense purple to the rim, with notes of espresso, chocolate, cassis and cedar. Parker gave the 2013 a perfect 100 point score.

The 2012 is described as "a candidate for perfection" with a gorgeous nose, and deep, opulent majestic flavors. Parker gave the 2012 a 99+ score.

Both these wines are rare, and very difficult to obtain.
