Ladybird is a chic “vegetable bar” from Ravi DeRossi, who owns Death & Co., Mother of Pearl, Bergen Hill, and vegan restaurant Avant Garden, among other popular, cool-kids spots. The restaurant has relocated from its original home on Macdougal Street to St. Marks, and the menu has gotten a makeover, too. Its still all vegan, with dishes like kale with pickled daikon, puffed rice, and black garlic; a dairy-free version of eggplant Parmesan; and fondue of tapioca, garlic, and white wine. Cocktails, meanwhile, mix ingredients like kale and banana (in the Dodo’s Conundrum) and green apple and ginger bitters (Saint Helens’ Dove.)
