Rimer Cardillo



Rimer Cardillo, 1944, Professor at the State University of New York, New Paltz. MFA from the School of fine Arts at the University of Uruguay. School of Art and Architecture in Weissenssee, Berlin School of Graphic Art in Leipzig. 1997 John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship. With a very strong background in printmaking, Cardillo has developed a large and powerful body of work that includes prints, photos sculptures and installations. 1994,The Bronx Museum of the Arts had a Ten-year survey of his work. He represented Uruguay at the 2001 Venice Biennial. 2004 First comprehensive survey of Cardillo's career The Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, SUNY New Paltz. 2010 Installation at Temple Space - Kiscell Museum in Budapest Hungary. The Nassau County Museum of Art had an extensive exhibition of his works in September of 2011. The Art Museum of the Americas in Washington DC.
