Sra. Alfaro’s 1st Grade
 
For this art project, the word “isla” was outlined in pencil on 25 small canvas tiles. On the day of the Friendship Party, each first grader in Sra. Alfaro’s class was given one randomized tile and told to use two colors to paint in the different delineated areas. The children had no idea what the completed piece would look like. Once the tiles dried, they were put all together on a 30”x40” canvas.
