Artists and GHS mom, Abbey Williams-Hardy offers:
Untitled 2 (Surrender series), 2007-2018
Digital print/video still
8" x 12"
Edition 1 of 4 +1AP
This image is from a video by the artist. The video still is an altered frame from an old black and white Mummy film
—a scene where the damsel is being carried off/away by the monster. The artist removed the Mummy frame by frame to create the visual of a woman floating in space. By removing the monster the woman is left in ecstatic suspension rather than victimized paralysis.
