Description
Learn how to act in front of the camera for grades 4th - 7th.
Students will learn to translate acting techniques in front of the camera. No prior acting experience is necessary, but helpful! The Neighborhood Playhouse focuses on the teachings of Sanford Meisner and indeed the instructor for this course is a Playhouse graduate. Students will learn technical skills, but will also focus on truth and vulnerability. Exercises and materials will be recorded on film and played back for most classes. Students can then observe their performance and quickly apply feedback and critique to improve their skills. Topics covered will include terminology, cold readings, monolouges, improvs, scenes, and auditions.
