Description

Shipping cattle required special skills and a special horse. Bred for strength and calm nature, the shipping horse had to be tall and strong enough to pull reluctant cattle into the water and to the longboats. Loading cattle at Kailua, cowboys Thomas Kamaki Lindsey and Keawe Alapai work together to bring the cattle into the water as spectators watch from the seawall c.1930.
