Description

Here’s an opportunity for 6 naturalists to get muddy, wet, and slimy as they try to catch frogs in a Concord kettle pond with Judean Patten-Clark and Tooey Rogers. In past years we have also spotted fish, snakes, salamanders, and snapping turtles!

Pack a snack, towel and change of clothes for your kids and drop them off at Hapgood Wright Town Forest (Fairyland Pond on Walden St/Rte 126) in Concord at 1:00 p.m. Once there we will trek down to the beautiful (and muddy!) Fairyland Pond - and adventure! The adventure ends with a creamy cold ice cream treat from Bedford Farms Ice Cream down the street and pickup at 3:00 p.m.!

Special Instructions

This event takes place on Friday, May 18th at 1:00 PM, and the kids can eat a late lunch at the pond.

Special Note: Parents might want to take advantage of being out in Concord by visiting some of its historic sites like the Old North Bridge, The Old Manse, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery (with Authors Ridge), the Alcott, Hawthorne, or Emerson houses, the Concord Museum and much more. Or parents may enjoy shopping in one of Concords three downtown areas. Additionally, parents could make a day of it by spending the afternoon at Walden Pond after a satisfying lunch at Helen’s or the Main Street Cafe.   Yum!
