Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

This wine has a signature style that is dark in color, with rich fruit and ripe, velvety tannins – as approachable in youth as in maturity. Caymus farms Cabernet grapes in eight of Napa’s 16 sub-appellations, with diversification enabling the winery to make the best possible wine in a given year. This Cabernet offers layered, lush aromas and flavors, including cocoa, cassis and ripe dark berries.

Caymus Vineyards Special Selection Cabernet Sauvignon 2014

A rich, dense ruby color hints at the dark fruit nose of blackberry and currant that carries through to the palate, interwoven with complex aromas of black licorice, anise and creme de cassis. On the palate, the wine opens up to reveal an earthiness, with brown spice, cigar box and ripe dark fruits that linger throughout the extracted and long finish. The texture is opulent and rich, yet has a velvety quality with supple density. Rich, fine-grained tannins are balanced with ripe fruit, acidity and oak.

Duckhorn Vineyards Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

At Duckhorn Vineyards they have been producing Cabernet Sauvignon since 1978. Bringing together fruit from Estate vineyards and top independent growers, this wine embodies the flavorful complexity of Napa Valley winegrowing, while offering a seamless balance between fruit, oak and tannins. To add nuance to classic Cabernet elements of currant, cherry and plum, the blend also includes Merlot, yielding a layered wine that is approachable in its youth, yet worthy of cellaring.

Kistler McCrea Vineyard Chardonnay 2015

Kistler’s 2015 Chardonnay McCrea Vineyard is soft, open-knit and gracious, all of which will make it easy to drink and appreciate upon release. Orchard fruit, dried flowers, chamomile and almond notes grace a subtle, understated Chardonnay that speaks in hushed tones. Today, the McCrea is a bit subdued relative to how it showed from tank.

Silver Oak Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

The Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013 from Silver Oak has an inky black and opaque hue. It’s currently a dark and brooding wine, offering aromas of cassis, asphalt, plums and black pepper. It has a concentrated and tightly-wound core of black fruits and licorice with a very long, dense, and structured finish. Given proper cellaring, this wine should improve through 2039.
