Description
Spend the day with BJ member Lisa Honig Buksbaum to go behind the scenes and explore strategy and marketing, healthcare alliances, empirical research in pediatric well-being, and the latest positive psychology findings that have already inspired more than 500,000 hospitalized children and their families to take active roles in self-healing.
Soaringwords, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to embrace hospitalized children and their families, encouraging positive health and healing. When a child is ill, the whole family is in crisis. Hospitalization is a stressful and painful experience for a child with limited opportunities for choice and control. Pediatric patients are isolated from family, friends, classmates, and a sense of community.
Soaringwords’ initiatives provide fun, creative and educational modules (“interventions”) based on positive psychology concepts that enhance well-being and are empirically measured.
Lisa Buksbaum started Soaringwords 16 years ago, today it has embraced more than 250,000 children and their families. You can shadow Lisa to learn about the behind-the-scenes workings of a successful global not-for-profit organization.
