In the summer of 2006 three childhood friends decided to fulfill a longtime passion of theirs and open Cava. Ted & Ike had grown up working in restaurants and Dimitri had honed his craft at some of Washington, DC’s finest restaurants like Bistro Bis and Kinkeads. As three children of Greek immigrants, they wondered why no one had opened a Greek restaurant that reminded them of the mezze style dining in Greece. Cava Mezze opened in the fall of 2006.
